Tabernacle Multimedia Ministry

As of Sunday May 22, 2011 the Tabernacle Sound Ministry is now the Tabernacle Multimedia Ministry. This change has come about now that sound is not the only thing we do. Staying current means being able to provide content in many forms and that is what we are doing. This website will keep you abreast of all that is going on with Tabernacle, while sermons can be seen on Youtube and finally we now have our own disc duplication department.

Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1941 by the great Dr. Louis Rawls, way before the time of the VHS and certainly the internet, CDs and DVDs. But as time went on communication technology grew. Tabernacle's sound ministry would record sermons to cassette tapes and then dub them from tape to tape with a high speed dubber.

It was decided by former Pastor Andrew D. Hunt Jr. that he wanted to present these sermons on CD. These CDs were prepared and burned on a Macbook via Apple's Garage Band software, then duplicated one at a time on an old G4 desktop and paper inkjet CD faces were press to the top. When Pastor Hunt departed the sound ministry stopped doing CDs.

A few months ago our current Pastor, Willie F. Green Jr. came to us and stated he had a vision of being able to bring the sermons to people on the web and on CDs. After greenlighting the restructuring of the Tabernacle Youtube account and being given a few estimates it was decided that we had enough to put the whole plan into effect. Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church became the proud owners of a real time CD recorder and a professional duplicator.

That's right Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church now has the ability to produce professional quality CDs with great sound quality and Lightscribe technology. And soon MP3s for iPods and other such players may be on the way. We will continue to stay on top of technology to bring the message of God to you.
